tHRive Supports Light Rail to Town Center

tHRive, the young professionals organization of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce,   conducted a poll on light rail which was completed on Saturday, March 19, 2016. This survey was distributed to members via tHRive’s email and social media pages and cut straight to the point asking, “Do you support light rail expansion into Virginia Beach?”  The response was an overwhelming 92.52% “Yes, I support the expansion.”

tHRive has heard from its members and can officially take a stance for the expansion of light rail,” said Julia Rust, Chair of tHRive. “Our region is taking steps to create a better tomorrow and bringing light rail to Virginia Beach will be a huge step towards improving the region’s infrastructure. Extending across city borders establishes sustainable strategic growth initiatives, will enhance our quality of life and is one step closer to regionalism, all of which will benefit Millennials.”

The poll was administered on tHRive’s website. It included 361 respondents from tHRive’s current pool of 1,172 members.  The results yielded a 2.97% confidence interval at a 99% confidence level.

tHRivemembership is free and open to young professionals ages 21 to 39. Visit to join.
